Ingredients
  

  • 100 g butter
  • 125 g plain flour
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 25 g fine dark cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Melt the butter and let it cool. In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs, sugar and vanilla extract until pale and airy
  • Sift the flour and the cocoa powder together and gradually mix it in, with the salt, into the egg-sugar mixture. Whisk until smooth and completely incorporated
  • Add the melted butter and mix it in uniformly. Then pour this batter in a cake tin
  • Bake, in a pre heated oven, for 40 minutes, at 180Ā°C. Keep checking on the cake every 15-20 minutes
  • To test if the cake is done, after 40 minutes, gently press the centre, if the crust cracks then your cake is done
  • Remove and let it cool. Serve the kladdkaka or sticky chocolate cake warm with some berries and/or vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can garnish the cake by dusting it with some castor sugar and berries
  • The original recipe calls for the use of plain flour but I have used wheat flour instead. You may choose according to your taste or convenienceĀ
