This 6 ingredient Swedish chocolate cake is not just a delight to eat, but is also really easy to bake! Enjoy a slice of it with berries, ice-cream or just as is - you are going to love it

- 100 g butter
- 125 g plain flour
- 200 g granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 25 g fine dark cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp salt
Melt the butter and let it cool. In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs, sugar and vanilla extract until pale and airy
Sift the flour and the cocoa powder together and gradually mix it in, with the salt, into the egg-sugar mixture. Whisk until smooth and completely incorporated
Add the melted butter and mix it in uniformly. Then pour this batter in a cake tin
Bake, in a pre heated oven, for 40 minutes, at 180Ā°C. Keep checking on the cake every 15-20 minutes
To test if the cake is done, after 40 minutes, gently press the centre, if the crust cracks then your cake is done
Remove and let it cool. Serve the kladdkaka or sticky chocolate cake warm with some berries and/or vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
- You can garnish the cake by dusting it with some castor sugar and berries
- The original recipe calls for the use of plain flour but I have used wheat flour instead. You may choose according to your taste or convenienceĀ
