- 1 cup rava/sooji semolina
- ¼ cup desiccated coconut
- 7-8 tbsp milk warm
- ½ cup castor sugar
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 3-4 tbsp mixed nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews) chopped
- 8-9 raisins
Heat a shallow cooking pot and add the ghee. Fry the nuts and raisins until golden brown, remove and keep aside. Next add the rava and roast it, on a medium low flame, until you get a nutty aroma
Then add the coconut and roast for another 5-7 minutes
Remove in a separate bowl and once it comes to room temperature, add the nuts and the cardamom powder. Mix well
Next add the sugar and mix until homogenous
Now, add the milk, tablespoon by tablespoon to the rava-coconut mixture until it starts holding shape. Shape them into ladoos and stick a raisin on top
Let the rava ladoos with coconut rest for 15 minutes before eating, so that their shapes firm up. Enjoy with friends and family!
- You can adjust the amount of sugar to be added as per taste
- Add the milk gradually so that you know when to stop adding, once the mixture sort of forms a dough enough to start shaping the ladoos
