Almond and coconut modaks

Equipment

  • Modak mould

Ingredients
  

  • cups finely ground almonds
  • ¼ cup dried desiccated coconut
  • ¼ cup condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 3 tbsp dried rose petals
  • 1 tbsp rose essence
  • few drops of organic red food colour optional

Instructions
 

  • In a clean mixing bowl, add all the ingredients
  • Using your fingers, knead it into a tight dough

  • Grease your modak mould with some ghee

  • Now place a tablespoon of of the almond flour dough on each on them and then bring the three sections together. Remove the excess dough from the sides of the mould

  • Gently ease the modak out of the mould and place it on a parchment sheet lined plate

Notes

  • Instead of the rose flavour, you could add any of your choice. Some popular ones are saffron, cardamom etc
