Nutella French toast roll ups

 These quick and easy French toast roll ups have a crunchy, buttery and cinnamon-y crust with a delicious Nutella and strawberries filling! Truly a treat for yourself and your loved ones

Ingredients
  

  • 5 slices white sandwich bread
  • ½ cup Nutella
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries chopped
  • 4-5 tbsp butter
  • tsp salt
To garnish
  • 2-3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon powder

Equipment

  • Tawa (Indian skillet) or any skillet

Method
 

  1. Trim the edges off the breads and flatten them out with the help of a rolling pin. Take a tablespoon or two of Nutella and spread it evenly on each slice
  2. Place the strawberries on one end of the bread and roll it tightly until you reach the end. Press the end gently to secure the roll
  3. In a bowl, break the egg and beat it with the salt. Use a pastry brush to apply the egg wash on each roll, all around
  4. Melt the butter in your skillet, over medium heat, and fry the rolls until golden brown on all side. Remove on a serving platter
  5. Mix the sugar and cinnamon powder together and drizzle it over your Nutella French toast roll ups and serve. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can replace strawberries with bananas or even use a combination of strawberries and bananas in the recipe
  • 1 cup = 250 millilitres
