Eggless chocolate mousse with berries

Eggless dark chocolate mousse

A rich, chocolaty sweet treat with frozen berries!

Ingredients
  

  • 100 grams dark chocolate roughly chopped
  • 200 grams heavy cream
  • 50 mililitres milk
  • 20 millilitres dark rum
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • frozen raspberries for garnishing

Method
 

  1. Melt the dark chocolate with the butter in a bowl, over a pan of simmering water
  2. Boil the milk separately and then add the melted chocolate to it
  3. Next add the dark rum into the chocolate mixture
  4. Using a hand blender, beat the cream until soft peaks arise
  5. Gently fold the whipped cream in the milk, chocolate and rum mix
  6. Gently spoon this into small bowls or cups and refrigerate for at least an hour
  7. Serve chilled with the frozen berries on top

Notes

  • Whipped cream can also be added on top of the mousse before serving
