Chocolate cake Christmas tree

These super cute chocolate cake Christmas trees make for a wonderful Holiday season food gift for loved ones and also a great snack for Christmas parties for kids!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 10 inch sticky chocolate cake
  • ½ cup chocolate chips/chocolate bark
  • 8 chocolate fingers
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • sugar sprinkles
  • sugar stars

Method
 

  1. Slice the cake in 8 pies and keep them aside. Melt the chocolate chips/chocolate bark (roughly chopped) with the butter in a microwave in bursts of 30 seconds until smooth and luscious
  2. Take a tablespoon of it and draw a zig-zag pattern with it in the pie shaped cake, starting from the pointed end
  3. Drizzle the sugar sprinkles over the chocolate, turn the pie up side down so that the excess can fall off. using tweezers or your fingers, place a sugar star right on top of the cake tree and on all ends
  4. Puncture the base of the tree using a straw and fix a chocolate finger in it and your Chocolate cake Christmas tree is ready
  5. Serve these as a snack or dessert and pack them as gifts for your loved ones this festive season

Notes

  • A sticky chocolate cake or dense brownies work much better than a sponge cake for the trees
  • 1 cup = 250 millilitres
