Almond and coconut modaks

A quick and easy, no cook modak recipe that is so pretty and delicious too. A perfect offering for your Ganapati Bappa!

Ingredients
  

  • cups finely ground almonds
  • ¼ cup dried desiccated coconut
  • ¼ cup condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 3 tbsp dried rose petals
  • 1 tbsp rose essence
  • few drops of organic red food colour optional

Equipment

  • Modak mould

Method
 

  1. In a clean mixing bowl, add all the ingredients
  2. Using your fingers, knead it into a tight dough

  3. Grease your modak mould with some ghee

  4. Now place a tablespoon of of the almond flour dough on each on them and then bring the three sections together. Remove the excess dough from the sides of the mould

  5. Gently ease the modak out of the mould and place it on a parchment sheet lined plate

Notes

  • Instead of the rose flavour, you could add any of your choice. Some popular ones are saffron, cardamom etc
