A lip smacking 5 ingredient, spicy raw mango chutney recipe that is sure to become your seasonal favorite – a must try Indian summer recipe!
I am making the most of the mango season, are you? While maa’s raw mango and coconut chutney is a hit at home, this spicy raw mango chutney follows suit. Since my father isn’t a fan of garlic, this spicy chutney isn’t made much at my mum’s. However, since the husband and I love garlic this spicy raw mango and garlic chutney, is one of our favorites. Like most chutney recipes, even this one a no cook recipe. All you will need to do is collect all your ingredients and blitz it together. Also, since this one doesn’t even need a tempering, this lip smacking chutney is just a 10 minute work. Moreover, speaking of ingredients, you are going to need just a handful of them. I have used mint leaves, coriander leaves, garlic, chilis, cumin seeds and raw mangoes, here.
Since we love this spicy raw mango chutney herby, I have used mint and coriander both. However, you could use either of them as well. Also, you could keep the chillis out if you do not want your chutney to be hot. Furthermore, if you find your chutney to be very sour due to the raw mangoes, you can add a spoon of sugar to balance it out, as well. Coming to what all can you serve this delicious chutney with, the answer is everything! I am not kidding. This yummy green mango chutney works excellent both as a dip and a spread. You can use this in your sandwiches and also to dip your samosas in! In fact I even love having it with a bowl of rice and dal too. So you see, you’ve got endless options!

Everyone has their own preference when it comes to their chutneys. Sweet, spicy, savory, runny, thick – and they are are amazing. Likewise, even with my very yummy spicy raw mango chutney, you can choose to keep it’s consistency as you like. You could keep it chunky or smooth, the way I like mine. If you’d like to keep your chutney chunky, keep a track on the amount of water you are going to add while making it. On the other hand, if you’d like it smooth and pasty, you will need to add water more generously. Finally, I have used three cloves of garlic here since we love the flavor, but you could choose to reduce or even increase it’s quantity depending on what you like.
This delicious and easy chutney stays well refrigerated for two to three days. However, even if it stays beyond that, it isn’t going to taste as good as the chutney would have lost it’s freshness. So, would recommend making it in batches that wouldn’t last more than three days, at max. Do give this seasonal recipe a try soon and enjoy it as you like. And if you do give this recipe a shot, I’d love to hear from you. You can share your food pictures with me on Instagram, as well.
