A delicious, refreshing and tastebud tingling summer drink made with the season’s best mangoes, lemon juice and flavored with Indian spices

"Mango chilli lemonade - www.kitchenmai.com"

After my deliciously sweet and creamy mango lassi recipe, I have yet another mango drink for you. This time it is my tastebud tingling mango chilli lemonade to quench your thirst, this summer. For someone like me who prefers chatpata flavors over sweet ones, this is my favorite. Chatpata or tastebud tingling flavors because, my lip smacking mango chilli lemonade also has chaat masala and kala namak, besides chilli flakes in it. Not only do these elements make this lemonade tasty, but it also cuts through the sweetness of the mangoes. Like always, even for this summer recipe I have used Indian mangoes, alphonso mangoes to be specific. Since these mangoes are quite sweet, a lemonade made with them is a yummy combination of contrasting flavor palates. And the touch of chilli flakes in there is icing on the cake!

This is an amazingly refreshing summer beverage that you can serve to guests. Moreover, since you will need to make it with mango pulp you can make it all year round. However, in the summer when Indian mangoes are in season do use them to make the pulp. Other times you can use the canned ones. To make the drink kid friendly, leave out the chilli flakes and increase the sweetness in it. On the other hand, to make an alternate adult version you could spike it up with a dash of vodka, too. So you see one drink and so many delicious versions of it!

The mango pulp

To make this super amazing mango chilli lemonade I have made mango pulp from fresh mangoes. And to do that, I have peeled the fruit, chopped it’s flesh and ground to a pulp. Therefore, you could do the same or used the canned ones, too. Even the canned ones work pretty well, for this lemonade recipe. While this mango drink tastes incredibly refreshing in the summer, you could make it all year round, as well. After all, who doesn’t love the sweet and delicious taste of mangoes. And with my mango lemonade recipe, seasoned with chilli flakes, you are in for a tasty surprise.

If you are planning to try my recipe, I’d love to hear from you. Let me know your feedback in the comments section below. On the other hand, you could also share your food pictures with me over on Instagram.

East hearty!
