Have I emphasized enough, in my previous posts, about how much I love banana breads? If not, then this being my third post on them, will. My moist and healthy chocolate banana muffins are totally sinful, without the guilt. Like most of my bakes, these dark chocolate beauties are also butter and refined sugar free. But, you will never be able to tell. Since, there should be never a cap on eating desserts, I keep mine guilt free. Again, as I always do while baking banana breads or muffins, I have used overripe bananas for this recipe too. Not only do they make the muffins more moist, but they also help sweeten them. This mean, you will need less of the sweetener you will be adding to the batter. Moreover, the over ripe fruit also enhances the banana flavour in these bakes.
So, next time do not toss out any of your brown looking bananas. Those are the ones you need! Coming to these divine chocolate banana muffins, not only are these a crowd pleaser, but also super easy to make. This is a “one pot” recipe, too. All you need is one mixing bowl and a hand blender or whisk. Hence, not much cleaning and dishwashing once you are through with this recipe. What more would you want when baking a piece of heaven! 🙂

It is the husband, in my home, who has a major sweet tooth. So, there is always a dessert baked or made in my kitchen. But, I can never say no anything that has got chocolates or bananas! Therefore, these healthy chocolate banana muffins are a win win in my house. I have also topped my muffins with some dark chocolate chips. This you could say, is my love for dark chocolate. Also, since these are guilt free treats, we have them with our breakfast in the morning and also as a snack. And of course, these doubling up a dessert, after dinner, is a no brainer option. 🙂
While making these banana chocolate muffins is already a joy, I especially love the fragrance wafting through the house when they are in the oven. Oh they smell irresistible! And that is why you see, I have made 12 of them for just two people. Because, it is so not easy to stop with having just one of these muffins. So, a note of caution for you too my friend, make a big batch, when you do. These delicious muffins are loved by children and adults, alike.
Storing suggestions
The best is to have these chocolate banana muffins fresh. And they stay well for two to three days in an air tight container. Thereafter, it is best to refrigerate them. However, make sure to finish the muffins of within a week. Since there are fresh bananas in them, they can spoil easily.
I hope you get baking with these yummy muffins so. And if you do, I’d love to hear how they turned out for you. You can also share your pictures with me on Instagram.
