I think, tomatoes, basil and mozzarella put together, is a divine combination. And, if you are on this recipe post, I am guessing you feel the same way. This flavour trio, in pizzas, pastas and/or salads, is a complete heart winner. And, one such magical recipe, is that of the pizza margherita. The fresh fragrance of basil, the sweetness of the tomatoes and the creamy mozzarella, makes this pizza a crowd favourite. So, here I am sharing with you, my recipe of an easy, homemade pizza margherita.

I am someone, who generally likes chicken and shrimps on my pizzas. But, this one ranks in my top three pizza favourites. In fact, I could easily label this as my comfort food too. Also, I love working with basil, and when this one has an overload of it, I couldn’t ask for anything better. Although, I have already shared the recipe of making a pizza base in my easy homemade chicken pizza, I have still written in down below. And, for this pizza margherita recipe, I have made a basil flavour infused sauce. The recipe of which, is included below.

Additionally, if you wish to check, here is an alternative recipe for tomato sauce for pizzas and pastas.

Quick and easy recipe

Like mentioned earlier, you will need only three simple ingredients for this easy, homemade pizza margherita recipe. And, all of them, namely, tomatoes, basil and mozzarella, are pretty easily available too. Moreover, my pizza base recipe, is a yeast free one. And, involves ingredients you will readily find in your kitchen. Hence, this one is a total hassle free recipe. What’s more, you will be able to assemble and bake your pizza, in under 30 minutes. Sounds dreamy right? You will know how, once you are through with reading the recipe.

This quick and easy recipe, therefore, makes this delicious Italian treat a perfect weeknight dinner. Even for your sit-at-home weekend meals, you could whip this pizza up without a fuss. After all, all of us love a quick and elaborate cutting chopping free meal. I definitely do.

Also, I find baking my own pizzas pretty therapeutic. Making the pizza dough, stirring up the sauce, layering the pizza – oh such a joy! And, if you have kids around, you should definitely involve them in the process too. They enjoy it as much as adults do.

The end result, of such minimal effort is so pretty and delicious that it sometimes blows me away. How simple flavours come together to make this comforting, easy, homemade pizza margherita is truly a wonder.

So, the next time you are craving for pizzas, ditch the take out and make a fresh one at home instead.

Here goes the wonderful recipe. Do give it a try and let me know how it turned out.

Also, take a look at my spaghetti aglio e olio recipe, for a quick and soulful meal.
