A delicious fusion pasta recipe that combines the creamy goodness of the Indian butter chicken with Italian pasta
What if “recycling” food could lead to another yummy recipe? I am asking you this because, I recycled the leftovers of my butter chicken to make butter chicken pasta! And what a brilliant idea that turned out to be! It all happened the day after I made my delicious one pot butter chicken. So, when I was left with some of the sauce and a few pieces of chicken, I didn’t want to eat it again with rice or naan. And that is when the idea of making a delicious, creamy and buttery pasta, with it struck me. And that is when I also realised, this is amazing option for anyone who loves a pink sauce pasta – a combination of red and white sauce. Since the butter chicken itself is made in a tomato based sauce with cream, the pasta gets a beautiful creamy texture with Indian flavours.
Moreover, making this fusion pasta will take you only 20 minutes. Hence, this is a under 30 minutes recipe. But this is true when your butter chicken is ready. Nonetheless, making my one pot butter chicken is also quite hassle free. So, you could check that recipe out, too to make this yummy fusion recipe.

Delicious fusion pasta
Besides the pasta being so delicious in itself, I have upped the flavour quotient by topping it with some roasted tomatoes and toasted kasuri methi. The cute, slightly charred cherry tomatoes, not only look good, but also lend a beautiful tang to each bite. While this is an optional bit, I highly recommend you add it. And the kasuri methi, being an integral part of the butter chicken itself, had to be the final flourish! Moreover, toasting the fragrant fenugreek leaves, further enhances its earthiness. So, you see, besides being an easy recipe this one is such a flavour bomb!
Now, while everything sounds all Indian until this point, the integral bits of making the pasta are all Italian. What I mean is, the penne I have used is cooked al dente, in saline water, just as the Italians recommend. And how can a pasta ever be complete without some parmesan shavings? Therefore, even my butter chicken pasta has a generous garnish of it.
So, you see how deliciously east meets west in my fusion pasta recipe. 🙂
Even though I have made my chicken pasta here with penne, you could use any pasta you wish to. Some options are spaghetti, fusilli, bow pasta etc. Now, if you are a pasta lover and an Indian food lover, at the same time, you definitely must try my recipe. It is quick, delicious and so comforting!
Do drop me a line of your feedback, when you try it out. And it would be even great if you could share your butter chicken pasta pictures with me on Instagram. It would really be a delight!
For now, here goes the recipe.
